Digital exam rooms

Since the winter semester 2021/22, it is possible to take secured e-exams on the premises of the HWR Berlin with the university’s own hardware and software. For this purpose, rooms with different capacities are available at Campus Schöneberg as well as Campus Lichtenberg.

Usage scenarios

The rooms are primarily used for teaching courses and can be booked for digital examinations if capacities are available. Furthermore, subject to teaching & examinations, they can also be considered for the implementation of training courses.

Location & Capacity

Campus Lichtenberg

A total of 88 examination seats (+3 electr. height-adjustable seats) are available at the Lichtenberg campus.

They are divided as follows:

  • 6A 123: 20 (+1) seats
  • 6A 124: 20 (+1) seats
  • 6A 125: 28 seats
  • 6A 126: 20 (+1) seats

Campus Schöneberg

A total of 92 examination places are available at the Schöneberg campus.

 

They are divided as follows:

    • House B 4.03:   20 seats
    • House B 4.04:   72 seats

Room equipment

Multifunctional tables

The PC is located under the table top, which can be opened up if necessary.

Low barrier access

Barrier-free way to the rooms is given. The room door itself as well as toilet doors are not
self-opening.

Privacy screens

Lightweight, mobile panels on a metal base with sound insulation. Easy placement possible between the examination places.

Separate electric circuits

Charging facilities for students’ own devices. The examination computers are supplied with power via separate electric circuits.

Technical equipment

All-in-one computer

Compact all-in-one computers from Dell (OptiPlex 7480). With retractable webcam.

Silent mice

Low noise mice from Logitech (B110) with a noise reduction of 90% compared to conventional Logitech mice.

Protection

Depending on the e-exam setup, the computers can be secured by software. This means that students only have access to web content or software that is necessary for solving the tasks.

Whisper keyboards

Low noise keyboards of the Cherry brand (KC1000). Very quiet keys with durable key labeling.

System environment
