2 Reference to Data Rights<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Article 15 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR), individual persons have the right to free information on whether and which of their personal data are processed. Provided that no statutory exception or higher interests of third parties exist, if the data is incomplete or incorrect then individual persons have right to a correction pursuant to Art. 16 EU-GDPR.

4 Purpose of the Processing of Personal Data<\/strong><\/p>\n

The website\u00a0blog.hwr-berlin.de\/Ivanov serves to provide information concerning the research, publication, teaching, and services provided by Prof. Dr. Dmitry Ivanov of the Berlin School of Economics and Law.<\/p>\n

The website is used to provide information to all relevant groups of the Berlin School of Economics and Law and is publicly accessible to external persons who have a relevant interest in the content. Personal data is collected to ensure the operation of the website and for registrations, publications etc. The personal data of website users will not be used for purposes other than those mentioned. If in the future data should be used outside this framework, website users will be informed in advance.<\/p>\n

All personal will be processed according to the basic data protection regulations of the EU (EU-DSGVO), the federal data protection law, the federal state data protection law of Berlin, and the students data regulation of the federal state of Berlin.<\/p>\n

5 Collection and Use of Personal Data<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the use of our service, it is not necessary to register or provide personal information.<\/p>\n

Editorial and Administration Users:<\/p>\n

Registration is only required for administration or editorial processing of the website. The blog is created by the IT department. The person responsible for the blog receives an administrative account from the IT department. With this account, the creation of further administrative or editorial users is possible. These credentials are created and maintained by the person responsible for the blog\u2019s remote user management. The necessary registration data are transmitted and stored by the responsible person(s). A transfer of data to third parties does not take place.<\/p>\n

The following data is collected during the registration process.

\n\u2022 Password in encrypted form
\n\u2022 (University-related) e-mail address
\n\u2022 First name
\n\u2022 Surname<\/p>\n

The registration process will include information about the processing of this data. The legal basis for processing this data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e DSGVO. Registration of the user(s) is required to provide the content and features of WordPress for the purpose of providing content.<\/p>\n

In principle, we collect and use the personal data of our users only to the extent necessary for the provision of WordPress and its functions.<\/p>\n

If the processing of personal data is required to perform an assigned task, then Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e DSGVO serves as the legal basis. If the processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of the Berlin School of Economics and Law or a third party and if the interests, fundamental rights, and fundamental freedoms of those concerned do not prevail over the former interest, then Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO serves as the legal basis for processing. Insofar as we obtain the consent of the user(s) for processing of their personal data, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as thelegal basis.<\/p>\n

When using WordPress without plugins, the following data is collected:
\n\u2022 Connection data (e.g., IP address, date and time of access)
\n\u2022 Access data: Username, password in encrypted form, (university-related) e-mail address, first name, last name
\n\u2022 content data (e.g., uploaded files, posts).<\/p>\n

The temporary storage of the connection data, in particular IP addresses, by the system is necessary to enable delivery of WordPress to the user\u2019s computer. To do this, the IP address of the user(s) must be saved for the duration of the session. The legal basis for the temporary storage of data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.<\/p>\n

The data (connection \/ access and types of content data) is also stored in log files. Storage in log files is done to ensure the functionality of WordPress. We also use the function Fail2ban on the server side to block IP addresses. In addition, the data is used to ensure the security of our information technology systems. For these purposes, our legitimate interest in the processing of data exists according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.<\/p>\n

The data in the log files are deleted after 14 days. Access to the log files is restricted to administrators. The collection of data for the provision of WordPress and the storage of data in log files is essential for operation. Consequently, there is no possibility of contradiction on the part of the user.<\/p>\n

6 Duration of Storage of Data \/ Deletion Periods<\/strong><\/p>\n

Registered User
\nThe personal data of the administrative or editorial users of the WordPress Blogs\u00a0blog.hwr-berlin.de\/ivanov will be stored until the user is deleted, because no administrative or editorial access is any longer required. This applies if the person leaves the Berlin School of Economics and Law: in this case, the blog page is deactivated or the responsibilities change.<\/p>\n

7 Use of Cookies<\/strong><\/p>\n

WordPress uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in the Internet browser or by the Internet browser on the user\u2019s computer system. If WordPress is called, then a cookie can be stored on the operating system of the user. This cookie contains a characteristic string that allows the browser to be uniquely identified when the website is reopened.
\nWhile logging in to the blog it.hwr-berlin.de, a cookie is temporarily set to determine if the browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal information and will be discarded when the browser is closed. While logging in to the it.hwr-berlin.de blog, some cookies are also set up to store credentials and display options. Login cookies expire after two days, cookies for display options expire after one year. If the option \u201cStay logged in\u201dis selected during registration, the registration will be maintained for two weeks. By logging out of WordPress, the login cookies will be deleted.<\/p>\n
