This 90-minute online course provides an introduction to the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) approach and outlines how you can incorporate digital and international elements into your teaching. This time we’ve invited Ana Carolina Vázquez Naranjo from the Tec de Monterrey (Mexico), who has carried out numerous COILs and who will present a real-life example of COIL. 

BeCOIL and the Berlin Centre for Higher Education (BZHL) will jointly organise the event.

At the beginning of this 60-minute exchange session, Prof. Dr. Antje Wilton-Franklin from the FU Berlin will give a keynote speech about her COIL course on Language and Ecology. Afterwards, you can exchange ideas with other Berlin teachers on the topic of COIL and develop plans for COIL courses. The event will be moderated by project coordinators from the BeCOIL team, which is represented at nine universities in Berlin. Julia Kröcher from the BZHL will be on hand to answer didactic questions.

Representatives from Berlin universities can register via the BZHL. Educators from international partner institutions associated with a Berlin-based university are encouraged to join. They can sign up for the seminar by filling out this form. Please note that the seminar takes place in Central European Time.

This series of events is offered as part of the BeCOIL project and is open to teachers from all Berlin universities. It will take place a total of three times in the winter semester 2023-24. The instances can be attended independently of each other, they do not build on each other.

Im Rahmen des BeCOIL-Verbundprojekts bieten wir für Studierende, die aktuell einen COIL-Kurs (Collaborative Online International Learning) besuchen, oder generell an einem internationalen Austausch im Rahmen ihres Studiums interessiert sind, ein COIL-Begleitprogramm an. Als Lehrende von COIL-Kursen können Sie dieses kostenlose Angebot gerne mit Ihren Studierenden teilen.

Wir starten am 2. November von 16:15 bis 17:45 Uhr mit dem Einstieg. Es gibt einen kurzen Input zu kultureller Kompetenz und wir besprechen die Besonderheiten guter Online-Kommunikation. Außerdem tauschen wir uns über die ersten Erfahrungen in den Projekten aus.

In der zweiten Veranstaltung im Februar 2024 (Mi. 14. Februar 18:15-19:45 Uhr) (Präsenzveranstaltung) werden wir gemeinsam mit allen Berliner Studierenden die COIL-Projekte reflektieren, den möglichen Nutzen der gesammelten Erfahrungen für die zukünftige akademische und berufliche Laufbahn diskutieren und konkrete Pläne zur Umsetzung dieser Bestrebungen erarbeiten.

Digitalisierung im Bereich der Lehre bietet viele Möglichkeiten, um gemeinsam mit internationalen Dozierenden einzelne Lehreinheiten oder einen gesamten Kurs zu gestalten. Hier fällt häufig der Begriff COIL. Dieser steht für Collaborative Online International Learning.

Zu Beginn dieser 60-minütigen Austauschrunde hält Prof. Dr. Stephanie Swartz von der HS Mainz einen Impulsvortrag über ihre Erfahrung mit COIL-Projekten. Anschließend können Sie sich mit anderen Berliner Lehrenden rund um das Thema COIL austauschen und konkrete Ideen für COIL-Kurse ausarbeiten. Moderiert wird die Veranstaltung durch Projektkoordinator*innen des BeCOIL-Teams, das an neun Berliner Hochschulen vertreten ist. Für didaktische Fragen steht Ihnen Julia Kröcher vom Berliner Zentrum für Hochschullehre (BZHL) zur Seite.

Diese Veranstaltungsreihe wird im Rahmen des BeCOIL-Projekts angeboten und ist für Lehrende aller Berliner Hochschulen offen. ​​​​​​​Sie findet findet im Wintersemester 2023-24 insgesamt drei Mal statt. Die Instanzen können unabhängig voneinander besucht werden, sie bauen nicht aufeinander auf.

Aus dem Verbundprojekt Berliner Netzwerk Hybride Lehre

Am Mittwoch, den 30.08.2023, 13:00-13:55 Uhr werden in zwei kurzen Impulsen didaktische Ansätze für die hybride Lehre vorgestellt. Sie erfahren mehr über die Konzepte Humanizing Online Lehre und Gestaltung von Gruppenarbeiten in hybriden Settings.

Am Mittwoch 13.09., 13:00-13:55 wird die Reihe fortgesetzt mit einer Diskussion zur Wahl des geeigneten Lehrformats, in deren Verlauf verschiedene Bedingungen für Online-, Präsenz- und Hybrid-Modelle besprochen werden.

Die beiden Termine werden hybrid angeboten (online- als auch Präsenzteilnahme möglich)

„Towards a Hybrid, Flexible and Socially Engaged Higher Education“ from 26th – 29th of September 2023, Madrid, Spain

The ICL 2023 combines two conferences in one: the 26^th International Conference on Interactive Collaborative Learning and the 52^nd IGIP International Conference on Engineering Pedagogy. This interdisciplinary conference aims to focus on the exchange of relevant trends and research results as well as the presentation of practical experiences in Interactive Collaborative Learning and Engineering Pedagogy.

Das Berliner Netzwerk Hybride Lehre lädt Lehrende ALLER Berliner Hochschulen (und darüber hinaus) zu einer hybriden Veranstaltungsreihe mit Information, Diskussion und kollegialem Austausch ein. Als Auftakt wird im Rahmen des #LunchtalksLehre der HU ein Beitrag zur Medientechnik für hybride Lehre – vom kleinen Seminarraum bis zum großen Hörsaal gemacht.

Im Netzwerk Hybride Lehre haben sich Medientechniker:innen und Hochschuldidaktiker:innen aus sechs Berliner Hochschulen (BHT, Charité,  FUB, HU, TU und UdK) mit dem Berliner Zentrum für Hochschullehre zusammengetan, um Lehrende in allen Fragen rund um „hybrides Lehren und Lernen“ zu beraten, ausgewählte Lehrveranstaltungen zu begleiten und – auf Basis der gesammelten Erfahrungen – Entscheidungshilfen, technische Handreichungen, didaktische Empfehlungen und praxisorientierte Weiterbildungsworkshops zu entwickeln.
